一、介词的宾语
A.名词和代词:
Are you fond of pop songs 你喜欢流行歌曲吗?
What can I do for you 有什么需要我帮忙的吗?E.疑问代词或疑问副词+不定式:
In one of his books Marx gave some advice on how to learn a foreign language.在马克斯的一本书中,他建议我们怎样掌握一门外语。
They exchanged views on the question of what to do next.就下一步怎么办这一问题,他们相互交换了意见。
F.由疑问代词或疑问副词引导的从句:
I was fully aware of how deeply he had felt the death of his mother. 我深知他母亲死后他多么悲痛。
The mystery of why he failed filled him with sadness.他输得莫名其妙,这使他非常伤心。
We tell people apart by how they behave. 我们根据人的行为举止来分辨不同的人。
G.由关系代词what， whatever引导的从句:
He made a record of what he had seen.他把所看到的东西记录下来。
You can go on whatever day you wish.你想哪天去就哪天去。
You can write about whatever topic you are interested in. 你可以写任何你感兴趣的题目。
H .关于that从句作介词的宾语,在大多数情况下,that从句不作介词的宾语,至于except that， save that， in that ，有人把它们看作except， save， in 后接that 从句,也有人把它们看作复合连词:
This suit fits me well except that the trousers are too long. 这套衣服很适合我,只是裤子太长了。
We have no news save that the ship reached port safely. 我们只是知道船已安全进港,此外一无所知。
Man differs from animals in that he can work， think and speak. 人和动物的区别就在于:人会工作,有思想,会说话。
These two areas are similar they both have a high rainfall during this season.
A） to that B） besides that C） in that D） except that
（B4，1999.1-58） C对。这两个地区的相似之处,就在于在这个季节,都有很大的降雨量。
至于answer for it that（对……负责,担保）,depend on it that（依赖）,rely on it that（依赖）,see to it that（注意,留心),swear to it that （发誓,断言）等中的it，指的就是that 从句。例:
See to it that all the windows of the laboratory are closed when you leave. 离开时务必关好实验室的窗。
注意 in spite of ，despite， on account of ， because of， owning to ，in consequence of， in view of， regardless of, but for， in the light of 等都不能直接接that从句,正确的用法是:“介词 + the fact that...” 例:
He decided to buy another car that he had already had two beautiful cars.
A） despite B） in spite of
C） despite of the fact D） in spite of the fact
D对。虽然他已有两辆漂亮的汽车,但他还是决定再买一辆。

B.动名词(短语):
She was afraid of missing such a chance.她怕错过了这次机会。
He is not capable of doing this work， which requires a good command of English. 他还不能做这件工作,做这工作需要很好地掌握英语。
On hearing the joke，we all burst into laughter.听到这个笑话,我们全都笑了。
动词出现在介词之后时,一般以动名词形式而很少以不定式形式出现。特别要注意的是:不可把介词to误以为是不定式的符号。例:
I'm sure your suggestion will the problem.
A） contribute to solving B） be contributed to solve
C） contribute to solve D） be contributed to solving
（1991.6 CET6 ， 答案是A） 我相信你的建议将有助于解决这个问题。
These students were used to hearing English spoken by native speakers at home，so they had little difficulty when they went abroad. 这些学生在国内已习惯了本地人说英语,因此他们到了国外不费劲就能听懂英语。
She is looking forward to going to Tibet after she finishes her studies at the university. 她盼望着大学毕业后到西藏去。
Soon I took to getting up early. 不久我养成了早起的习惯。
C.副词:
quite recently， most mothers in Britain did not take paid work outside the home.
A） Before B） Until C） From D） Since
（2000年全国大学生英语竞赛初赛题）B对。直到最近,英国大多数母亲都不干家庭以外的获取工资的工作。
D.不定式(except， but等少数介词之后):
He seldom comes except to tell me something important. 除非有重要的事情要告诉我,不然他是很少来的。
I had no alternative but to walk out.我除了出去之外别无选择。
