not only (just)...but (also)不仅……而且……,其中的only (just)和also可省略一处,且只能省略一处。例如:

连接并列主语时,谓语动词应与所靠近的主语一致。例如:

Not only you but also Lucy goes in for skating.

when drinking to someone's health实质上是when you drink to someone's health的简化。当状语从句的主语与主句一致时,多可简化为“连词+分词”的结构。又如:
