国际在线1月23日报道据英国《每日邮报》报道，这张照片是“勇气号”不久前发回地球的，科研人员将照片传到了网上。起初，人们并没有发现可疑之处，但是一些业余天文爱好者仔细检查后发现，这张照片上的一块岩石上有个“人形轮廓”，外形非常像女性。照片中，“她”坐在一块突出的岩石上，伸展手臂，那姿势好像正在等公共汽车。
一些人表示，发现“人形”物体并不稀奇，因为早就有人宣称，这颗红色的星球上真的存在生命；而其他人则认为，这个人形可能只是简单的幻觉。一名天文爱好者在网上写道：“当我看到一个可能是裸体的外星人站在火星上时，我简直不敢相信自己的眼睛。”
