       Corn, one of Americans’ vegetables, was probably first grown in North America. When Christopher Columbus came to the New World, he found that the American Indians had learned to popcorn. They ate it and also wore it as decoration.

Early American Indians gave popcorn as a gift to their gods, hoping the gods would treat them better.
