My name is Steve．I moved into this house a few weeks ago，and I'm really enjoying living here．There's only one bedroom，and at the moment my sister is staying with me because she's looking for a job．
I work in advertising．It's hard work，and the hours are really long，but I like it．And it pays well．I don't really fell worried about my work．
The only thing I don't like about this house is one of the neighbours，Mrs Snell，I think her name is ．She's really strange．She never talks to anyone．I always say hello to her，and“Are you all right？”and“What a lovely day today！”，but she never says a word．Maybe she doesn't like young people．
My sister and I had a party a few days ago．It really wasn't very noisy．About ten of us were here until 11：00and then we went out to dance．When I saw Mrs Snell the next day，I said I hoped there wasn't too much noise，but as usual she didn't say anything．Funny lady．

应试策略：
1．我们在听短文之前，一定要抓紧时间细读所给的问题及选项，并根据选项的内容进行对比，对短文的内容进行预测（包括对问题中问句的内容进行推理），达到提前了解短文中可能出现的单词、词组或句子。只有这样，在听短文时才能有目的、有选择地得出正确的判断。另外，在听的过程中，一定要注意并简略地记下短文中的关键词语。这些词语主要包括事情发生的场合、时间、地点、事件中的人物，数字及简单运算的词或短语。这样，在听完短文后再进行归纳、综合、判断，就可以顺利整理出相关信息，从而确定正确答案。
2．一定要在听完全文并且理解全文的主要内容基础上才能作答，千万不要边听边作答。但是，在听的过程中，尤其是在两遍录音之间的间隔时间里，可以迅速记下人名、地名、时间、事件的起因、过程、结果等关键信息。听短文不能强求句句听懂和记住，也不在于仅听懂只言片语，而在于对整体内容的理解和把握。听完之后，还要结合题目进行思考和判断，依靠对短文具体细节的回忆，选择正确答案。
3．对于影响理解的生词，一是尽可能从上下文猜测其词义；二是如果一时来不及思索上下文，则可记下该词的大致发音，等听完全文后再来判断它的词义，因为有时听到某词会产生“耳熟陌生”之感，但听完全文经过思索后，多数情况下会恍然大悟。切忌在听短文时在某个单词上冥思苦想，停留过久。
4．注意听短文首句、首段。因为“开场白”往往是讲话人开门见山自我介绍，阐明讲话的目的，主要内容，引出下文的开端，充分利用这些信息对理解全文和答题均十分重要。
