第十三届“21世纪·联想杯”全国英语演讲比赛由中国日报社和联想集团共同主办，21世纪英文报系承办。今年，美国教育考试服务中心正式成为大赛的英语评测合作伙伴，使大赛的评测标准与国际接轨。作为迎接北京奥运会系列活动之一，同时作为“北京市民讲外语”活动重点推广项目，大赛将在全国范围内展开弘扬奥林匹克精神的英语演讲竞赛系列活动，将引导青年一代深刻理解奥运精神的精髓，在奥运活动中体现自身的价值，在社会生活中实现自己的人生目标。
