Maryland police searching for a man in connection to a shooting at a hospital in suburban Washington. Police say 45-year-old prison inmate Kelvin Poke overpowered a guard, grabbed his gun and fired it in an attempt to free himself. Now no one was hurt in that shooting. Poke was taken to the hospital after he began complaining of chest pains. We'll continue to cover the story for you.

No word yet on what sparked a massive fire at an internationally renowned hospital in London. The fire broke out this morning at the Royal Marsden Hospital. All the patients were taken to other hospitals. This was the first hospital in the world dedicated to the study and treatment of cancer. More than 40,000 patients from around the world are treated there each year.

Pakistan has delayed next week's parliamentary elections until February 18th.Now the delay is due to rioters sparked by the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf says British investigators are heading to his country to help investigate Bhutto's death.

Rampages in parts of Kenya, more than 300 people have been killed in ethnic violence after a disputed presidential election in the African nation. Witnesses say crowds of people with machetes slashed children, torched a church full of refugees, killing up to 50 people. The head of the African Union is scheduled to help mediate the post-election crisis.

The candidates for the White House are braving the Iowa cold, hoping to warm up some last minute support. Today is the final day before voters in Iowa caucus for their nominees of president. Most polls still show the race too close to call for either party.

Now the weather could have an effect on the turnout in Iowa. Utility crews in the Hawkeye State and other parts of the Midwest are working to restore power to tens of thousands of people. More than a foot of snow is on the ground in parts of Ohio and Michigan. It's the region's heaviest New Year's Day snowstorm on record.
