Hello, I’m Melissa Long here at the CNN Center in Atlanta on this Tuesday,December 18. Here's a look at some of the stories happening Now In The News.

Another turn in the investigation into those destroyed CIA videotapes. A federal judge has ordered a hearing to determine if the Bush Administration violated a court order by destroying the tapes. The tapes show the interrogation of terror suspects. The White House said that court intervention is premature since ConGREss and government officials are already looking into the destruction of the tapes.

There will be no trial for the three suspects in the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalie Holloway. Prosecutors in Aruba say there is not enough evidence to proceed and they are dropping the case. All three suspects in the case had already been released. Holloway vanished during a graduation trip following a high school to Aruba in 2005.

One of the few issues bringing Democrats and Republicans together these days, steroids in sports. It comes nearly a week after the release of the Mitchell report which highlighted the widespread abuse of Steroids in Major League Baseball.Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer and Republican Senator Chuck Grusly introduce legislation to reduce access to performance-enhancing drugs and stiffen penalties for those who use them.Hearings on the proposals haven't been scheduled yet.Both senators are urging Congress to act on them as soon as possible.

For the first time,Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s openly suggesting it may be time to retire.In a letter read on television,Castro said he would not, quote, "cling to power or block the rise of the younger generation".Medical officials have long insisted Castro is recovering,but never say when or if he will resume the presidency.

Just weeks now after the writers' strike threw your favorite shows into reruns.Some stars are finally returning to air.On January 2 Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien will unveil fresh episodes of their late night talk shows on NBC.What does it mean? Well, without writers, the comments will rely a lot on their own material. Not all bad! It will be going on.
