Directions: You will hear a passage. Listen carefully and write down the missed information according to the tape.
Most people are much more frightened of being unemployed than they need to be. Being unemployed (1) certainly has disadvantages, but there are good things about it too. One advantage of (2) not having a job is that you don’t have to get up early and go to work in the rush hour. You can stay in bed (3) as long as you like, and there’s plenty of time (4) to read the newspaper and have a leisurely breakfast. But (5) the best thing of all is that you’re your own boss. There’s no one to tell you (6) what to do and when to do it.
One disadvantage of being unemployed is, of course, that you don’t have much money coming in—having a job at least enables you (7) to save a bit of money to go on holiday. (8) On the other hand, when you’re unemployed you don’t need to go on holiday, (9) because you’re on holiday already. In fact the main (10) trouble with being unemployed is that you have to spend so much of your time looking for a job.
